The arks in the Old Testament were a sign

I had an insight into a parallel between Noah, Moses, and Jesus. Noah is warned by God to build an ark (a large boat) to escape the coming waters of judgment. As a baby, Moses avoided being thrown into the river at Pharaoh's order by being placed in his own little boat. A little ark that was for his protection to escape the waters that otherwise would have destroyed him.

So what's this got to do with Jesus? In Matthew 14:22-33 Jesus sent his disciples on ahead to the next stop via boat while on the way they encounter a storm. Jesus comes to them by walking on the water. Noah and Moses needed a boat of some kind to protect them from the waters that threatened their destruction. Jesus needs no boat - he is the ark that protects us. Jesus walked on water to signify that he was greater than Noah and Moses and that he is the means of our deliverance. He takes us through the dangerous waters and at his word, the storm is calm.
