What does a man on a mission seek out for help?

What is most helpful to someone in pursuit of a goal? More money perhaps? Paul says in Philippians 4:10-20
I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that once again you renewed your care for me. You were, in fact, concerned about me but lacked the opportunity to show it. I don’t say this out of need, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know both how to have a little, and I know how to have a lot. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being content—whether well fed or hungry, whether in abundance or in need. I am able to do all things through Him who strengthens me. Still, you did well by sharing with me in my hardship.
.... Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the profit that is increasing to your account.
Paul says he has learned the secret of contentment which leads he to say he isn't actually seeking out the money. This seems odd, considering the difficult circumstances Paul often finds himself in: labors, sleepless nights, and times of hunger just to name a few. You might think money could have helped him avoid some of these problems. Instead, he says that the Philippian's gift was profitable for them.

So does Paul mention anything that he describes as helpful for himself? Yes, he does in 2 Corinthians 1:10-11, "We have put our hope in Him that He will deliver us again while you join in helping us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gift that came to us through the prayers of many."

Paul tells the Corinthians they can join in helping him by praying for him. When I first began to really think about what "join in helping us by your prayers" really means I was astonished by how powerful prayer is. I find it amazing that God actually listens to us and not only that, God acts on our behalf! I love that we have the ability to approach God like this because of faith in Christ. He is the one we should seek for help.

So as you read our blog please lift us up in prayer to help us on this journey. By faith he hears and answers.
