July

It seems like July just flew by for this seminary couple. We began Greek 2 at the start of the month, and completed the final exam yesterday. On Monday we begin Greek 3, which will focus more on translation and require us to employ all the vocabulary, paradigms, and nuisances of the Greek language. I'm both excited and nervous...and very glad John will be right there with me. He's been the best study partner a girl could ever ask for!

I think the most interesting part of Greek so far has been watching symbols and marks transform into words and phrases that have substance, that make sense and connect to my understanding of the Gospel. We've been translating the first few chapters of John at the end of class, and it's incredible to see verses I've heard all my life take on new life when they're translated from Greek. It's almost like we're reading the Bible again, but somehow for the first time. It's fantastic, and I can't wait for Hebrew in the fall!
